Great news!!!

Hello silent ones!

You lucky people will be graced by the presence of the esteemed Sana' Rasheed who will answer your questions about IELTS and explain how she performed so admirably to get an overall IELTS score of band 7.5 (General Training IELTS).

So, see you WEDNESDAY 27 December for the three practice tests (Reading, Listening and Writing) in our spacious new classroom Room 6.

On THURSDAY, 28 DECEMBER, Sana' will kindly be with us from 6.00 to 6.15/6.20pm (?) in Room 6. There will be plenty of other stuff (not an IELTS writing word) to get through as well, but I plan to finish early on Thursday - by 8pm if possible. In the meantime, you know where to contact me!

How are you Mr. Tony, How are you all?

I hope that the preparation course is going fine…

I had taken my results… I was really happy for all of them except for the speaking result which came against my predictions…

However, here are my grades:
Speaking: 6
Listening: 7.5
Reading: 8.5 
Writing: 7

Overall: 7.5

Despite the fact that I might not be able to collect the required points for immigration due to the speaking result, I had a special experience from the preparation course which helped me to get my results especially the reading  … Also, I realized that I have the ability to study and work simultaneously… In other words, the course was of a great help for me in all measurements…

Thank you very much Mr. Tony … Your support & care for your students is stimulating …

A BIG,BIG week ahead

The 'phoney war' is over, this coming week will make you or break you!

Every day is critical, you CANNOT afford to miss a single lesson and THURSDAY is just as important as any other day.

So, over the weekend you:

• read the Sydney Opera House passage and answered the questions
• wrote me a task 1 and task 2 IELTS writing
• read the INSIGHT into IELTS reading units 1. 2 and 3
• started your vocabulary lists
• organised your files
• reviewed the handouts I gave you last week
• looked ahead to this week's road map schedule
• checked out IELTS websites online
• looked through the old weblogs
• went to the learning Zone
• practised, practised and practised your English

Fantastic! This week we crack on with the Speaking interviews; get into Reading question types; prepare for the second debate and have a mid-course feedback session tomorrow. Yes, we are almost halfway through the course and some of you (most of you?) are still in SECOND gear!!!

Yes, I know it is hard, but IELTS is cruel and unforgiving. There are no 'free breakfasts' with IELTS!

I wonder how Saeed got on with his third attempt at IELTS - we should get an idea tonight!

This week we sort out your Task 2 essay writing strategy and deal with Reading (Listening and Speaking are manageable.)

OK then you silent, unresponsive potatoes, what are you made of? Give me a reaction! Anything is better than a pathetic silence (Assma and Niveen excepted!)

Your tutor expects a great deal from you, can YOU deliver?

How are you all? How are you Mr. Tony?

This is Sana, from the previous class… My exam is after two days and time is passing so quickly…

The past week I was too much overloaded …I was planning to study at the learning zone to continue the reading and listening modules that I could not finish within the previous three weeks but I hardly managed to leave my work before 7:00 or 7:30pm. Nevertheless, I managed complete the rest of the listening modules and most of the reading modules… Also, I took today off work and I dedicate it to more study and practice …

Frankly speaking, I feel as if I am in a race with time since the early morning. I think that I am almost prepared to the exam but still there is more time to take the advantage of it …
For you, the new course students, the chance to take the most of the preparation course is huge but it needs a good management of time. Do not ever try to miss a class... u will miss a lot... Do your homework even if it seems hard to compromise between work & study … After all, the tiredness & hardship will fade away while your targeted grade will be in your hand (If GOD will)… it is tough but it is not impossible … Just set your priorities and make the IELTS at the top of the list… I learnt this from Mr. Tony and I am really optimistic regarding getting my targeted grade…

Be brave! Have faith!

So my latest class! IELTS reality has bitten you!

It's going to be hard, but it can be fun and rewarding!

You have negotiated a 5.45pm start, which means we go 'for broke' until 8.30pm without a break. So be it, it can be done and will be done. Have you looked through the handouts I gave you? What about that Reading homework and the Letter that you promised to write to me? Have you organised a folder with a 10 subject divider? Did you look at any websites? Have you answered my blog invitation? One student has done so - what about the other 11 members of ieltscommunity15? Hey, am I asking too many questions?

Anyway, we have to 'hit the ground running' this week, there is no time to lose. I plan to PUSH the weblog this course, otherwise like ieltscommunity14, you will get overwhelmed by the pressure of work, family, IELTS course, Tony's demanding expectations and so on. Boy, it is tough, isn't it?

One of last month's class, Sana Rasheed, has joined the weblog and is taking the IELTS this week. So, Sana, how is it going? Let's hear from you (and any other ieltsforce members!!!).
